Post Type:news With Bravo Cancellation, Kathy Griffin May Become Available to CNN | Viamedia

Bravo has canceled comedian Kathy Griffin‘s eponymous late night talk show, TVLine reports. That cancellation may open up Griffin to joining CNN in some capacity.

Regular readers may recall that back in March CNN taped a pilot with Griffin and Anderson Cooper, in front of a live audience. That pilot was meant to bring some of the unscripted fun that CNN has on New Year’s Eve to a more regular timeslot, if not daily then weekly.

At the time, it seemed Griffin’s deal with Bravo may get in the way of a potential pickup, but with the cancellation, things are becoming clearer. We haven’t heard anything about CNN moving forward with the program just yet, but the news about “Kathy” means that if CNN wants to, the comedian could probably join the lineup in short order.

CNN has been very busy experimenting with new programming in the last few months. In addition to Jake Tapper’s new 4 PM show and a new morning show, the channel tested a panel show “(Get To) The Point” at 10 PM, and as TVNewser first reported last week is likely to revive “Crossfire” in the coming months.
