Bravo’s Top Chef: New York continues to heat up. 

The fifth episode of the series’ fifth season became the highest non-finale Top Chef telecast ever among total viewers and second-best non-finale installment with adults 18 to 49, according to network officials. 

The Dec. 10 extended installment, airing from 10 p.m. to 11:15 p.m., averaged a 2.44 household rating and 3.02 million viewers, including 2.19 million among the Madison Avenue-coveted demo, according to Nielsen Media Research data. 

Compared to the equivalent fourth season episode on April 8, the Dec. 10 Top Chef: New York was up 55% among adults 18 to 49 (2.19 million vs. 1.42 million) and 44% among total viewers (3.02 million vs. 2.09 million). 

Through five episodes, Top Chef: New York averaged 1.87 million adults 18 to 49 and 2.65 million viewers, respective gains of 22% over 1.53 million in the demo and 18% more than the 2.25 million total audience from the first five installments of the series’ fourth season. 

On Dec. 10, Top Chef was the No. 1 cable telecast for the day among adults 18 to 34 and adults 18 to 49. Additionally, among the younger demo, Bravo trailed only CBS.
