Lifetime’s original movie Flowers In The Attic drew more than 6.1 million viewers in its Jan. 18 premiere, the network announced Tuesday.
The movie, based on V.C. Andrews’ controversial book, also drew 2.6 million adult 25-54 viewers and 2.0 million women 25-54 watchers – all cable original movie high marks since the Oct. 2012 premiere of Steel Magnolias, according to network officials.
Among social media, Flowers in the Attic was the night’s second most tweeted program on all of television, next to the Screen Actors Guild Awards, according to SocialGuide.
Lifetime will encore Flowers in the Attic this Saturday night at 10:00pm ET/PT, immediately following the world premiere of original film Lizzie Borden Took An Ax. The network is already developing Petals on the Wind, the sequel to Flowers in the Attic, according to officials.
