LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY 6/22/2010– Viamedia, the cable industry’s leading independent cable rep firm, announced the appointment of media sales veteran Jonathan Spaet as Senior Director of Advanced Advertising. 

In his role as Senior Director of Advanced Advertising, Mr. Spaet will be responsible for managing the regional sales effort for emerging technologies in New York, Boston and the Providence DMA. The primary responsibilities include Viamedia’s current online and longform initiatives, as well as advanced technologies such as VOD, Widgets, EBIF and text advertising campaigns. 

Mr. Spaet will provide additional sales support to the local and national sales teams, increased accountability, and assist in training efforts; drive focused sales efforts and deliver budget expectations associated with these revenue opportunities. His past tenures, wide range of winning sales experiences and leadership abilities has provided him with the industry experience, business knowledge, connections in the field and entrepreneurial skills to lead this outstanding opportunity. His knowledge and focus will add additional energy to our New York, Boston and Providence operations. This direction will allow our managers the focus they need to take their revenues to the next level of performance & excellence. 

About Jonathan Spaet 
Mr. Spaet comes to Viamedia most recently from where he served as Executive Vice President, North American & International Sales. Prior to, he served as Vice President/General Manager of Advertising Sales for Time Warner Cable in New York City, overseeing ad sales for the largest local market in the country. Previously at Time Warner Cable, he was Corporate Vice President of National Ad Sales. Prior to joining Time Warner Cable, Mr. Spaet served as Vice President of Advertising Sales for Westwood One Radio Networks, running ad sales in New York for one of the largest radio groups in the country. Previously he was COO of MEP Media, a company focused on launching a digital cable channel devoted to music. 

Prior to joining MEP Media, Mr. Spaet was President of Ad Sales for USA Networks, supervising ad sales, marketing, research and operations for both USA and Sci-fi, two top-tier cable channels. Previously he was President of Ad Sales for where he grew revenue from $3.0 million per quarter to an annualized rate of $100 million within 18 months. This followed 15 years at NBC, where Mr. Spaet’s career included a six-year stint in NBC Cable and nine years in the NBC Television Stations Group. Mr. Spaet holds an MBA in Finance from New York University.
