The Golden Globe nominations were announced 
yesterday and cable continued to be very well represented. Cable networks garnered 35 of the 54 total nominations, though 20 of those were for HBO and Showtime. 
AMC earned 5 nominations including best drama for Mad Men and The Walking Dead. Jon Hamm (Mad Men) and Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) were nominated for acting awards. Piper Perabo of USA’s Covert Affairs got a nod for best actress in a drama as did Katey Sagal of FX’s Sons of Anarchy and Kyra Sedgwick of TNT’s The Closer. 
The American Film Institute also announced their choices for the top ten programs of the year and they included The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad and Mad Men.
