Nashville Coverage MapNashville is a vibrant, engaging city known proudly as “Music City, U.S.A.” From serving as home to the nation’s largest Kurdish population to being named America’s friendliest city for three years in a row, Nashville is a metropolitan place that proudly exudes all of the charm and hospitality one expects from a Southern capital. It is often called the “Athens of the South” because of the concentration of schools of higher learning in the city. Today the Nashville area has 21 postgraduate institutions, including Vanderbilt, Belmont, Lipscomb and Tennessee State universities. Owing to the “Athens of the South” moniker, in the 1890s the city built a full-scale replica of Athens’ Parthenon for the 1897 Tennessee Centennial Exposition. As you would expect from its nickname, Nashville has live music of multiple genres being performed every night. With more than 180 recording studios, and 5,000 working musicians, Nashville is clearly “Music City.”
