CHICAGO – The American Heart Association announced today that Viamedia has agreed to be the official media sponsor for the 2011 Start! Running Team in Chicago.
Viamedia, the leading independent provider of DMA-based cable television advertising sales and commercial delivery in the United States, will provide support for media efforts across a variety of platforms, including television, online and social media, in addition to other actions and events that will promote the Start! Running Team and the runners’ efforts to raise a combined $200,000 for the American Heart Association in 2011.
“The American Heart Association is very fortunate to have the support of Viamedia for the 2011 team,” said Jayme Pierson, Corporate Events Director for the American Heart Association. “With their involvement, we will be able to reach more people and raise more funds for the mission of the American Heart Association.”
“Viamedia is proud to sponsor the American Heart Association’s 2011 Chicago Start! Running Team,” said Becky Jones, Viamedia’s Vice President of Marketing and Research. “We are committed to supporting efforts that will reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, and we are delighted to use our media platforms to help spread an encouraging message to help others lead stronger, healthier lives.”
The Start! Running Team is a collection of runners who raise money for the American Heart Association by participating in any or all of the following three races in Chicago during 2011: the Shamrock Shuffle on April 10, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon on August 21, and the Chicago Marathon that is tentatively scheduled for October 9.
The Start! Running Team was formed under the American Heart Association’s Start! movement. Start! is the American Heart Association’s national cause initiative that helps individuals, families and communities achieve a healthy lifestyle through physical activity and nutrition en route to ideal health.
