Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., asked the FCC to support his efforts to allow consumers a la carte options for their TV viewing.
In a June 12 letter to acting FCC Chairwoman Mignon Clyburn, McCain wrote: “The time has come for television video consumers to have the option to either purchase individual channels or the tiers of channels currently offered by cable and satellite companies.”
McCain said his pending legislation, the Television Consumer Freedom Act, would offer incentives for pay TV providers to bring a la carte options to consumers.
